Glossary

What we mean by the words on our website:

  1. Please check dictionary / google for medical terminology and definitions. Other matters are explained below.
  2. “Your Endocrinologist Concept” – this is a unique approach to medical care provision which stems out a passion for continuing personalised care with the same clinician for all endocrine and medical problems that you may need help with. You and your clinician have a seamless digital access to your notes at all times wherever you are to provide advice and care.
  3. ‘Always On Approach’ – we believe that our care should be at your side at all times. You or your clinician may be on holidays / attending business meetings or conferences / away for other reasons BUT with the comfort of you being able to make a quick appointment (in clinic or telephone) to address your concern and get a useful solution.
  4. Paperless approach – we aim to be environmentally friendly and try to minimise the use of plastic and paper in our clinics. We accept that a true paperless approach is the future of technology BUT by maintaining an electronic database, we reduce our paper use by 80% (and aim to be truly paperless by 2020). Unfortunately we will have to provide GP & Patient clinic letters in paper (unless requested otherwise) as all corresponding practices (NHS & private) are not yet paperless. (All paper and plastic use is monitored and recycled). Help us achieve this by your personal approach as well.
  5. GDPR compliant services – we comply with GDPR in all of our work and due diligence to outsourced technologies. Data security is assessed and all paper records will be held securely for 5 years and destroyed as we aim to be paperless by 2020.
  6. ‘Telephone clinics’ – are for your convenience and will be the same (consultation & charges) as ‘in-person clinic’ consultations. Please feel free to convert them either ways according to your preference.
  7. ‘Cost effective’ – we are registered with all insurance companies and also aim to keep our pricing to reasonable market level and comparable to cover our expenses to provide the above mentioned features.
  8. Reliable private practice since 2007 – CEMED has been a brainchild of clinicians who are passionate about healthcare and has been run by Dr Jesse Kumar, Consultant Endocrinologist since 2007. We aim to improve our services to your need and requirements through evidence-based medicine and digital technology.
  9. ‘Global, secure 24-hour access to medical records’ – our systems are SSL secure and GDPR compliant (due diligence done with companies – clinicyou, medserv, protonmail, hellofax and all private hospitals/providers).
  10. Email Policy – by corresponding with us through email and giving us your email address you agree to us emailing you. Please note that for all confidential, personal and data-sensitive information we use cemed@protonmail.com.
